We are here to add what we can to,  not get what we can from, life.~Sir William Osler Many of us used to moan, “I wish I were dead.” Our addictions and obsessions made us hate ourselves. Other people scorned and pitied us. We wanted to die. We hoped that a life after death would give us rest from our constant battle with compulsions. But today we can find a better answer. There is life before death. Those of us who once cried out, “nobody cares” have found loving, caring friends who share our problems and help us find the answers. They guide us daily through wonderful adventures in living. We all receive great truths in recovery. I have been given the chance to live two lives. The cruel one has gone.
